In 1985 Erik climbed his first Adirondack mountain. The rest, as they say, is history.
Though he has backpacked, canoed, and mountain biked throughout the United States, his greatest adventures have taken place in the Adirondack Mountains. These include a 110-mile circumnavigation of High Peaks Wilderness Area, two thru-hikes of the 238-mile Trans Adirondack Route, four traverses of the 133-mile Northville Placid Trail, and a traverse of High Peaks Wilderness Area's 268-mile trail system. He's climbed the 601 peaks above 2,500 feet and the 217 peaks above 3,000 feet during winter. Erik has visited every named feature within Giant Mountain Wilderness Area, Hoffman Notch Wilderness Area, Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area, Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area, Silver Lake Wilderness Area, Hammond Pond Wild Forest, Lake George Wild Forest, Shaker Mountain Wild Forest, and Wilcox Lake Wild Forest. He loves sharing his passion for the outdoors and his leadership expertise. He has taught wilderness leadership courses for more than 200 days within the range.
